i have
Orientation for school tomorrow. kyu's going to drop me off at
will's when he picks him up for work, and then i'm going to have to
take the L all by myself. yikes.. i'll be taking the blue
line... i don't know how to read
the L schedule. school is on N. Wabash and Lake. the
closest L station i see is State/Lake. but i don't think the blue line goes to State/Lake. should
i just get off at Clark/Lake or transfer to another line to get off at
State/Lake? oh man...i'm going to get lost!

Cindy have kyu type out exact directions from what trian you are supposed to take as soon as you go down stairs into the subway for example...when you get to the bottom of the stairs take the train on the right side, remember to get on the second car so that when you get off at lake you turn left as soon as you walk out the doors and go up the stairs that are on your right side as you are turning left when getting out of the car...thats what I used to have anne marie do when we first started dating and I had to take the L without andy...I hate public transportation.
heya
this helped me a lot when i had to rely on public trans. it'll tell you which el, bus, or where to transfer, etc.

if you're taking blue you can get off at clark and lake it's not that far. no fret the L is super easy. there are signs EVERYWHERE, it's almost over kill.
hahaha...they were just a scenario...i'm not sure what you would have to take.
Hmm...I don't think it would be a good idea to transfer in order to get off 1 block closer at state/lake unless you're a princess and can't walk the extra block..haha. I say get off at clark/lake and walk the whopping 2 blocks to wabash/lake. Are you afraid to walk in the city too?
you can take the blue line (forest park) to jackson. tranf to red line (howard) there, then get off on lake/state (door opens on left). walk to your right, then out the exit of randolph/state/lake then towards northwest exit. once you exit, you'll see my condo (the corn building). then walk one block east towards wabash & lake (same direction as the cars).
but if you don't mind walking and don't want to transf, just take the blue line to clark/lake. the door opens on left (not 100% sure), then walk towards your left (towards Thompson Center). you'll go up the escalators and then through the double doors. then there'll be another set of escalators (the sign on top will read "brown line"). go out and you'll see lake st. walk 3 blocks east to wabash. (walk along the same direction as the cars on Lake). you'll pass Dearborn & State.
just grab a grande mocha from starbucks (which can be found at every corner) and enjoy the weather.
if you get lost, call me at my work #312-996-8265.
haha..thanks for the very detailed directions, aeri.
i was already there by the time you wrote this though. hehe. i was all worried for nothing. after i found the L station, it was a easy schmeazy.
hey - which school are going to? I attened the Illinois Institute of art ...sounds like that's where I got off to go to school.
