i finally found a site that shows how the invasion actually looks. check this out.. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.gearbits.com/images/cicadas1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.gearbits.com/archives/2004/05/cincinnati_cica.html&h=600&w=800&sz=287&hl=en&start=18&um=1&tbnid=w2WtTnfyNOcuPM:&tbnh=107&tbnw=143&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dcicadas%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26channel%3Ds%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official
i am seriously disgusted. i've got the heebie jeebies just reading/thinking about the coming cicada invasion. i can't find anything about how long they're going to be around. does anyone know??
it's predicted that they will be emerging on may 22 when the ground will be 64 degrees.
if they're only going to be around for a day or so, i'm staying holed up inside. kyu's going to have to walk jobie cuz i refuse to go out. omg. they're so ugly!! take a look at these ugly suckers! http://cicadamania.com/cicadas/i was beginning to think jobie was socially awkward b/c (1) she didn't play with the other dogs at the Damen dog park, and (2) she didn't play with will/christine's new puppy, winston. so weird! i just took her out for a walk to the park near our house. we bumped into a lady with her shepherd/huskie mix (medium size dog). jobie wanted to play w/ her dog! so i let her loose to run around. they ran ALL over the place. the lady said that her dog (Libby) doesn't like the Damen dog park either. she actually walks out of there. haha. whoo hoo...jobie's not socially awkward!

Hi, Cindy. Not sure if you remember me but I met you down at U of I when we were in undergrad. I check your xanga from time to time. Your pictures are awesome and you have interesting posts. Anyway, I saw your post about the cupcake store in chicago. I heard it wasn't that good - just overpriced cupcakes that were on the dry side... so if you haven't tried it yet, I would recommend not going. ok bye!
oh my you are seriously obsessed with the cicadas. it is gross. hello, where were you when they came around last time?! you don't remember it?
not obsessed..just extrememly worried! i lived in FL when the last time happened. i moved back to chicago in the fall of '90, so i just missed it by a few months. *phew* hmm...tiffany should've been here. i wonder if she remembers. *sick sick sick*
awwww...heheh. jobie. jobie and toby (remember minh? minh & steve's doggie and yours look alike) should play together too
cicadas?? all i can think of is the plague in the Bible hehe. no wait those were locusts...ech cicadas. are those those things that make a lot of noise that you hear a lot down at u of i? hmm...i'm too scared to read or look at the pictures...i came here september 1990 so must have missed it too? i don't remember any cicadas....i would think i would if something like that happened. don't worry, it'll be ok.
yeah, wedding planning is tough...because of all the uncertainties that revolve around it and in it. just wanna decide the big parts especially the date then the other parts won't be that big of a deal.
and oh yeah. when i said my photo blog i was referring to the xanga photo blog thing. if you go to my xanga, click the photos link.
hahaha i used to pick the empty cicada shells off the tree. i was a tomboy.
eww!!! we learned about them in biology class. it's SIICK. you have to watch out for jobie! dogs eat the cicadas and if they eat too many they can get ill!
