i am seriously disgusted.  i've got the heebie jeebies just reading/thinking about the coming cicada invasion.  i can't find anything about how long they're going to be around.  does anyone know?? 
it's predicted that they will be emerging on may 22 when the ground will be 64 degrees.

i was beginning to think jobie was socially awkward b/c (1) she didn't play with the other dogs at the Damen dog park, and (2) she didn't play with will/christine's new puppy, winston.  so weird!  i just took her out for a walk to the park near our house.  we bumped into a lady with her shepherd/huskie mix (medium size dog).  jobie wanted to play w/ her dog!  so i let her loose to run around.  they ran ALL over the place.  the lady said that her dog (Libby) doesn't like the Damen dog park either.  she actually walks out of there.  haha.  whoo hoo...jobie's not socially awkward!

what do you use to remove makeup?
what's your favorite face wash?  preferably to remove makeup..

whew...i just finished my 2nd week of school.  i was incredibly
nervous the first day when i had to take the L all by myself. 
once i got on the train, it was smooth sailing from there.  i just
followed the huge mass of ppl out of the station and onto the
street.  eek...which way do i go??  i had no idea where East
or West was.  i took a chance, and luckily, it was the right
direction.  (haha...i have a good sense of direction..i
swear!)  i have to lug a heavy portfolio folder and bag. 
man, when it's windy, that huge portfolio blows all over the
place.  ugh.  i'm SO glad i didn't have class
yesterday.  i would not have had a fun time walking in that wind
and wet snow.  i can't believe it snowed so much!

i've already had a couple projects due in each class.  BOTH
classes involve drawing.  i can't wait until i start learning how
to use cool programs on the computer.  drawing is definitely not
my forte.  it's so
time-consuming b/c it doesn't come naturally.    you'd
think that since i only have classes on tues & thurs, i would have
a ton of free time on my off days, huh?  eh, not really. 
i've been spending all day mons & weds working on my projects b/c
they take THAT long.  aish...  only 9 more weeks of these
classes... 

i've made a few classmate friends in my classes, so that helps make the
time go by faster.  3 hrs is a VERY long time (per class, mind
you).  i'm happy to report that i'm not the only married, old
fogie in class.  haha.  in one class, there are 3 other
married girls in their late 20s to 30.  i haven't met anyone
younger than 20.  phew...so i'm not 10 years older than
anyone.  that makes me feel a wee bit better.

than in a public bathroom.  *SICK*  can you imagine the
germs you are spreading after you touch the pump??  your credit
card, wallet, door handle, steering wheel....omg!

Few Snow Showers / Wind

  i have
Orientation for school tomorrow.  kyu's going to drop me off at
will's when he picks him up for work, and then i'm going to have to
take the L all by myself.  yikes..  i'll be taking the blue
line... i don't know how to read
the L schedule.  school is on N. Wabash and Lake.  the
closest L station i see is State/Lake. but i don't think the blue line goes to State/Lake.  should
i just get off at Clark/Lake or transfer to another line to get off at
State/Lake?  oh man...i'm going to get lost!

[[UPDATE]]  neighborhood drama..

i found out some new information about what happened last
week.  i bumped into another neighbor today as i was walking the
dog.  she heard that the lady was in the psychiatric ward of the
hospital for some reason, and she snuck out.  so that would
explain why she was half dressed in a thin robe.  it was a
hospital gown!  interesting...  still don't know why she was
in the hospital though..  but i will probably never know.

i seriously just saw something straight out of desperate housewives or some show like that.. 

i was making lunch when jobie started barking at something
outside.  so i went to the sliding window and peeped through the
blinds.  i saw my neighbor (woman) outside talking to a cab
driver.  she's strangely dressed, if you can call it that, in what
appears to be a sheet or thin robe, lounge pants and bare feet. 
(keep in mind, it's raining outside)  i could tell she wasn't
wearing anything underneath the sheet/robe.  it was really
low.  she was like wandering from one side of the cab to the
other.  she looked lost or something.  the cab driver drove
away very slowly after a couple minutes.  he had the window down
as he was driving away.  it looked like he was still talking to
her.  as he left, she kind of crouched down on the grass.  i
noticed that the back of her pant legs were wet and muddy.  very
odd.  then she disappeared around the other side of her house, so
i went back to the kitchen.  jobie started barking again. 
the lady had come back around to the side of her garage.  it
looked like she was trying to go into her house through the garage
window.  what the freak...  i was really starting to think
about calling the police.  she was seriously half naked trying to
break into her own house.  i saw her get in.  and i saw her
arm stick out as she threw off her robe.  then she tried to use a
long broom to try to pick it up from the ground.  she left it
there. ...  ummm...  we always thought those neighbors were
really shady.  we called them the mafia couple.

oh...as i'm typing this up, i just saw 2 police officers walking up to
the house.  what the freak.  someone else called them. 
thank goodness.  they're at her door.

i think she answered the door.  they're talking to her from
outside the door.  now...there's a lady in a trenchcoat taking
pictures from the sidewalk.  why??  [edit...  i recognize the trenchcoat lady.  she's another neighbor.]

another cop just showed up.  now there are 4 cops at her
door.  i'm watching from upstairs at my computer desk..  good
thing i took jobie out for walk before all this craziness
happened.  i'm kind of afraid to go out....

ah...the husband/boyfriend just got home.  the cops are talking to him.

more and more cops keep coming.  the cops finally got into the
house.  the paramedics just arrived.  they carried her out
of the house and put her on a stretcher and into the ambulance.

it was so weird.  the husband/bf was standing outside talking to
the police when the paramedics brought the lady outside.  he
didn't even go up to her to see if she was ok.  he didn't appear
to be concerned.  just kind of upset/pissed.  so after
everyone left (the police, ambulance, fire truck), the man was able to
drive his car into his garage.  i noticed that the lady's car
wasn't in the garage.  so that leads me to believe that she was
driven home by that cab.  but the question is...why was she all
disoriented and half naked?  where was she coming from?  where is her car?   

i wanna ask that trenchcoat neighbor lady what happened.  she was
taking pictures, and she had a tape recorder.  she was asking the
cops questions and recording it.  she tried to ask the man
questions but he gave her an angry look and waved her away.

[EDIT]  today's the day!!!  what a beautiful, glorious day it is!  hehe..

why is the sunshine state not going to be sunny??  the weather forecast says partly cloudy or scattered/isolated showers for the next 10 days!    ugh..  please don't rain...PLEASE don't rain!

oh well, we're going to MIAMI on friday!

she's been staying w/ us for the past few days. 
she's 16 and still kickin'.  she can't really go up or down
the stairs anymore, and she wears a diaper.
other than that, she's great!  well, her teeth and breath
are nasty. but what can we do now!  hehe.  so cute.
