    It's for the creation of the nation’s first, suburb-to-suburb commuter rail line. Called the STAR Line, this proposed service initially would link nearly 100 communities extending from Joliet to O'Hare International Airport. Eventually, the STAR Line would connect to the four existing Metra lines that feed the city of Chicago and suburbs, creating a comprehensive rail network throughout the entire metropolitan area.

    Show your support for the STAR Line, which will take cars off area roads, lower emissions and decrease traffic congestion while giving a million residents a safe and reliable transportation alternative.

  • it was such a busy weekend!

    friday, i met christine after work so that we could drive down to the city to meet kyu and will for their company holiday party.  we rushed to put on our party attire and drove through the friday night rush hour.  ugh...traffic.  the party was at Blue Water Grill, a very sleek and contemporary seafood and steak restaurant.  [pictures to come]

    saturday:  kyu had planned a romantic day downtown to celebrate our 6 month anniversary.  so he booked us a room at the Almalfi Hotel for friday night.  this was the plan: do some christmas shopping on michigan ave, lunch at the Signature Room, and ice skate at millenium park.  unfortunately, i foiled our plans.  my friends had given us a gift certificate to the Signature Room.  i forgot the giftcard at our hotel, and we weren't about to taxi back to the hotel to get it.  *sigh*  sorry, kyu!  maybe we'll take christine's advice and go another day during sunset.    we were so exhausted after shopping, we didn't have the energy to go ice skating.  so we ended up driving back to the suburbs. 

    somehow our weekends are always the same.  even if we plan something new to do (like this weekend), we end up just shopping, eating and watching tv.  sad..  haha.

    sunday:  after mass, grace & peter (+ joshua) took us to Winberries for brunch.  oh my goodness....the food was d to the e to the l-i-c-i-o-u-s!  (hehe...i'm a nerd.)  they had a wide assortment of breakfast food (and some lunch items).  from the usual omelets and belgian waffles to the lox and fondue.  i was full for the next 6-7 hours!  thanks, greter!

  • do you have a favorite apple?

    have you guys tried Honeycrisp apples?  i accidentally grabbed a couple when i was buying Fuji apples.  they're DELICIOUS.  crispy and juicy.  great texture.  i'm not a huge apple fan, but i looove these!  i think grace was talking about these on sunday.  i didn't even know i had them!  haha.

  • i don't think anyone thought going to the outlet mall last night(actually, this morning) was worthwhile.  omg...i don't know howmany times i'm going to say it.  i can't believe we went shoppingin the middle of the night!  it was crazy madness at aurora. we were lucky we exited the hwy before the 6 mile traffic jam to themall.  we bypassed the craziness by taking local roads.  weparked like a mile away at some office building, tried to shop forabout an hour, and left with nothing.  the sales weren't thatgreat, and the lines/crowds were ridiculous!  it was an absolutepointless trip.  never again!

    1. she loves to chew on Dingo brand rawhides.
    2. she chews on everything including: socks, boxers, towels, tissues, paper, change, leaves, sticks, rabbit poop, goose poop...  the list goes on.
    3. she greets you by jumping up and licking/nibbling your ears.
    4. she likes to chase her tail.  around and around in circles she will go until she finally bites her tail.
    5. she either sleeps parallel to me or on my pillow above my head.
    6. she likes to burrow under our comforter or her blanket in the cage when she sleeps.
    7. she likes to jump at my legs when i'm at the computer so that she can sleep on my chair behind me.
    8. she will roll onto her back when you say, "bang, bang!"
    9. she stands on her hind legs like a prarie dog when we eat.
    10. she just started to look for things to bite on the coffee table and nightstands.
    11. she grabs dish towels from the kitchen countertop.
    12. she teases gramma smokie by speeding by her and stopping to nibble her.
    13. she likes to "hunt" for bunnies and skunks in our neighborhood.
    14. she runs like the wind.
    15. she can be extremely engergetic, but she's totally adorable.  how can you not love jobie??
